The purpose of the laboratory is to meet the educational and research needs in the following areas as well as the systematic organization of research to enhance the training and education of students of the Department itself, postgraduate students and prospective students:

In particular, the purpose of the laboratory is:
- The collection, processing and analysis of research data presented in international and national scientific sources and databases by members of the scientific community and especially teachers and students working at the EPPSEKE.
- The support, supervision and assistance of postgraduate students with a subject related to the areas of Psychology and its extensions.
- Conducting research and studies in the above mentioned research fields.
- The creation and provision of teaching material for Psychology and its sub-disciplines, as well as for related sciences related to it.
- The implementation of pilot educational interventions in the classroom that will result from research and educational activities.
- The collaboration (educational, research, writing) with departments of Psychology of our country or abroad.
- The management of European and International Research Programs in the design of educational services and products to support the learning and teaching processes.
- The organization of seminars, workshops, conferences.
- Awareness and information of the school community on issues related to the subject of students' mental health, with the aim of preventing mental disorders at school, implementing counseling interventions and cultivating children’s socio-emotional development.
In the context of the sustainable operation and development of the laboratory the following objectives are envisaged:
- Creation of a bilingual website (in Greek and English), which will gradually become an information portal and a meeting point regarding the research interests of the laboratory in the international community.
- Organization of research and training workshops for students and teachers.
- Organization of international conferences on topics that fall within the research interests of the laboratory.
- Collaboration with schools and teachers to promote research in areas of interest of the laboratory.
- Preparation of research collaborations on innovative topics, with the aim of submitting them to bodies to claim funding.
- Formation of an international network for research in the scientific fields of the laboratory.
